We were honored to be a stop on the East Coast Greenway Alliance’s East Coast River Relay on September 3. The East Coast River Relay is the 25th anniversary of East Coast Greenway Alliance. For 10 weeks, events are being held in communities all along the East Coast Greenway to celebrate healthy watersheds, active living, and local culture. We partnered with the East Coast Greenway Alliance, The Waltham Land Trust, the Charles River Watershed Association, and our host organization, the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation.
Here was the day’s schedule:
10:30 – 2:00: Our regular open lab. With the rainy weather, we had just one visitor, Michael, who stopped by with all derailleurs frozen up. By the time he left, both Leo and John had worked with him and all gears were working. Lubrication, adjusting, and even a little bit of WD-40 was required on this one.
Noon – 1:00 pm: Historical walking tour about the industrial revolution and a wildlife talk led by the Waltham Land Trust.
1:00 – 1:30 pm: Visit the Watch City Bike Lab and talk with the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation at 154 Moody Street.
The weather did not totally cooperate… rainy and a bit chilly, but that didn’t stop about 40 people from coming out and celebrating with us.
